Walters are a market leading civil engineering contracting organisation, employing over 600 people. We specialise in the self-delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects for a range of public and private sector clients.

    Walters Group seeks an Accounts Assistant to join the existing finance team based at Hirwaun, supporting a number of different businesses within the Group.

    This role is an office based, permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5pm. There is free on-site parking and 27 days holiday plus bank holidays.

    The role

    • Working with the Sub-Contractors Payment team, matching timesheets and invoices.
    • Entry of timesheets on Accounting Software
    • Data entry of purchase invoices onto Accounts systems for multiple companies
    • Supporting the Walters Plant team, understanding plant movements, reviewing employee and plant timesheets and preparing charges to customers.
    • Proving general finance support for the business

    Qualifications and capabilities

    • Must be organised and methodical.
    • Good attention to detail is essential.
    • Experience working within a finance department would be desirable
    • Experience of Excel, Outlook and Word.
    • Good communication skills. The role involves frequent communication with customers, and employees within the business
    • Experience of using Sage 200 or other similar accounting packages preferable but not essential.
