What we're looking for
We are looking for a sustainability and environmental graduate to join us on 26th August 2024 to support our sustainability journey.
Based at our head office in Newport, our two year Graduate Development Programme includes formal training and mentoring from experienced colleagues and managers, and focuses on the achievement of Chartered IEMA status, beginning with GradeIEMA status and working towards a dual accreditation of Full Membership and Chartered Environmentalist (MIEMA CEnv).
The first year of the programme will be spent in placements in our head office and with our operational teams. This is followed by a year of developing environmental and managerial skills in an office-based environment, working on environmental projects.
We'll trust you to
- Drive the delivery of programs and initiatives across the business that are dedicated to lowering our environmental footprint by:
- minimising carbon emissions, waste generation and resource use
- protecting and enhancing natural capital (specifically biodiversity and air quality)
- embedding circular economy principles
- Ensure delivered projects and initiatives represent best value to consumers
- Work with other GDNs and industry working groups to identify, align, and implement best practices.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
You'll need to
- Hold a 2:2 or higher (or expect to achieve a 2:2 or higher) in a degree that meets the IEMA Graduate Membership requirements, covering at least 3 of the 6 criteria listed and obtained within the last 3 years
- Be self-motivated and committed to achieving your chartership whilst building a career in sustainability and environment
- Have pride in your work and motivation to deliver high performance ensuring safe working practices
- Have excellent communication and collaboration skills
