Working with Hello Future, you will liaise with schools and colleges, working with ages 14+, and build effective relationships to raise awareness of Level 4 and above study, including apprenticeships.
Throughout the role you will be supported to develop professionalism, technical competence, excellent interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to work independently.
You will play a key role supporting our work to meet agreed targets and objectives, working with currently under-represented groups in Higher Education and with a wide range of stakeholders including schools, colleges, employers and third sector organisations. You will need excellent communication and digital skills plus experience of delivering presentations to a range of audiences.
About Hello Future
Hello Future is part of the Uni Connect Programme, a national programme funded by the Office for Students. Uni Connect aims to support the government’s social mobility goals by increasing the number of young people who go into Higher Education, particularly those from underrepresented groups. Hello Future is the Cumbrian partnership, led by the University of Cumbria together with a number of partners including universities, FE colleges, employers and skills providers. Phase 1 of the programme began in 2017, and is now in Phase 3.
The University of Cumbria is the lead institution for Hello Future – the Cumbria Uni Connect partnership, which includes Higher Education institutions, further education colleges and employers operating within Cumbria. Hello Future are looking to recruit three enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Interns to support the delivery of an educational outreach programme. The post will be based within the University of Cumbria but will work for the partnership and report to the Hello Future Outreach Officer. The programme aims to work in identified target electoral wards with specific learners in three key areas of Cumbria to provide sustained, progressive and intensive outreach in order to broaden aspirations and support progression to Higher Education and to create a stronger evidence base about what works in Higher Education outreach.
