The role

As a graduate consultant mechanical engineer at TTP, you will work within multi-disciplinary project teams to invent new products and technologies that will positively impact the individuals who use them.

This role will suit someone with a broad interest in mechanical engineering, who enjoys using their technical skills and knowledge – and who is always looking to develop these. You can expect to be involved in all aspects of technology and product development; from invention, to analysis, to prototype design and transfer to manufacturing. The diversity in our work means that you can find yourself making a difference in a wide range of application areas as vast as making cancer diagnosis faster and cheaper, building a state-of-the-art drug delivery device and enabling a net zero world through greener energy production.

You will have the opportunity to work on multiple such projects at any one time, so over a year at TTP your experiences and applications will be vast, and you can expect to develop and expand your understanding of entirely new fields of science and technology rapidly. You will also have the opportunity to expand your skills into business development a project leading over time.

Requirements

When considering applications, we are looking for individuals with the following traits:

  • A strong academic record and working towards a 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstration of a good grasp of the first principles of your subject and the ability to apply these to understanding and developing new products.
  • Some evidence of practical applications of your degree, whether this is through university, previous work experience, or extra-curricular activities.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to colleagues and clients working in diverse fields.
  • Motivated by technology and wanting to make a difference though its advancement.

This role is intended to start in September 2025; all our graduates start together to foster a community of like-minded peers (there is some flexibility on start dates if needed).
