This role reports to our Senior Technical Specialist and provides analytical testing services the main job purposes/ objective are as follows:

    The role

    • Deliver a range of routine analytical testing programmes using expertise, problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail and practical skills to provide an effective service to customers.
    • Produce high quality routine reports which require minimal amendment during checking.
    • Build a network of contacts internally and provide cover when required to assist other team members and external contacts.
    • Ensure all quality systems are kept up to date and followed.
    • Contribute towards meeting agreed targets on time.
    • Become familiar with the use and maintenance of a variety of analytical instrumentation
    • Potential to take on more complex testing for the right candidate, once the routine testing is well understood, and as business needs requires.

    Skills and experience

    • Graduate with a degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
    • Alternatively, we welcome non graduates who have suitable laboratory experience with GCSEs and A-Levels (A-C Grade) or equivalent.  
    • Experience within a lab based environment, which could have been obtained during a work placement and/ or work experience
    • Experience in water contact testing techniques would be advantageous but not a necessity.
