We currently have a great opportunity for a Trainee IT Service Desk to join our team and take responsibility for providing technical support and advice to all our business users. Previous service desk experience would be advantageous.

    The role

    • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and other network and system problems.
    • Maintaining and administering computer endpoints and mobile devices, upgrading components when needed.
    • Securing and protecting data, software and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
    • Ability to work as part of a general Incident and Problem Management approach by taking control of active issues, communicating with all involved parties, facilitating any containment or contingency actions.
    • Ensure work is prioritised effectively to ensure customers are able to carry out their work promptly.
    • Ensure that all work is carried out following relevant health and safety processes, procedures and legislation.

    The person

    • Previous IT experience desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and high degree of numeracy & literacy skills.
    • Dependable & flexible, being on call if necessary.
    • Familiar with installing, configuring and supporting software packages.
    • IT related Degree or similar.

    Desirable

    • Understanding of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
    • Familiar with installing, configuring and supporting software packages.
    • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environments and best practice.

    Working Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
