About you

  • Ideally, 1-2 years' experience in a performance marketing role either agency or inhouse, with hands on experience of the ad platforms. We want you to know what drives sales and be able to suggest changes.
  • This is a cross channel role, with us running activity across all major digital marketing channels (Google, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Display, etc). Although you may not have direct experience of all these channels, you’ll need the understanding of how these channels work and the desire to understand more on these channels.
  • You are organised and able to work to tight deadlines with strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem solver who can work autonomously.
  • Experience working within a Transactional business.

Technical skills

  • Large account management of any 2 of the following 3 ad platforms, with a willingness to learn the third: Google Ads, Meta Ads, DV360
  • GA4 knowledge – Be able to navigate around the platform and pull insights.
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Looker Studio – Be able to create dashboards within Looker Studio (Google Data Studio)

What you need to know about the role

The Performance Marketing Exec sits within the Digital Trading Team (ecommerce and SEO, CRO, CRM, Analytics, Digital Marketing) and will be reporting into the Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

The digital marketing team is focused on driving new member acquisition we want someone with the skills, ambition, and energy to help grow The Gym Group. You’ll play a key part in deploying initiatives that reach, attract, and convert new members at all stages of the marketing funnel.

You’ll be working with our digital media agency (who build and execute the campaigns) to ideate, create, and analyse new tests. Working with our internal creative studio and marketing communications team you’ll have the freedom to suggest, brief and implement new creative, channel, ad copy and audiences to test.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to learn and develop a broad range of marketing

and digital marketing skills, especially gaining wider cross channel knowledge. With exposure to affiliate marketing, traditional media, and creative briefing.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the London East Croydon office and 3 days working from home. However, in Easter 2025 we will be moving to Clapham Junction and 3 days a week in the office. Occasionally, we’ll also work/visit the agency’s/media suppliers offices.

As Performance Marketing Exec you will

Day to day work

  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards to provide insights across channels on sales achieved through various campaigns and commercial performance.
  • Reviewing and auditing current ad platforms and suggesting changes to the media agency as necessary.
  • Provide reports on our digital marketing campaigns so amends to our strategy can be implemented based on results.
  • Briefing media agency with upcoming offers, campaigns and tests.
  • Working with the Marcomms team ideate and brief in new creative and copy for the media agency to test.
  • Experiment with new advertising channels to support our growth goals.
  • Working with the wider teams on new projects and building a digital marketing strategy to support initiatives.
