About the role:
We have opportunities in each of our Bristol office for graduates with a keen interest in developing skills in structural engineering to join our busy structural design teams.
You will work with the support of senior colleagues on flagship and regionally significant schemes across our defence, transport, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential portfolios. You will be involved with the production of designs, drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports. You will be given the opportunity to work towards professional qualification with the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
This post will offer the successful applicant an interesting, challenging and varied workload as well as allowing them to develop personally and professionally as an Engineer.
Duties include:
- Delivery of fully coordinated structural designs on a wide variety of projects, alongside members of structures teams locally and nationally.
- Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, design teams and contractors
- Develop skills in the use of the latest design software e.g. Tekla Structural Designer and Revit
- Assist in design reviews and verification checks
- Undertake site visits and surveys
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 2:1 degree in the field of Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng) with experience in structural design
- Previous technical / industry experience advantageous
- Commitment to achieving chartered status with IStructE / ICE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Suitability for ‘Security Clearance’ to permit working on Defence Projects
- Full UK Driving Licence
