    St Leger Homes is an award-winning, customer focused social housing provider that manages over 20,000 homes on behalf of Doncaster Council.

    Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor the postholder will work as part of a professional, multi-disciplinary team that provide the commercial management and support of a range of contracts that will aid the efficient and successful delivery of multi-million pound construction, refurbishment and maintenance works undertaken by St Leger Homes and its contractors.

    The post-holder will have a strong desire to develop, demonstrate, exercise their knowledge and experience in the field by assisting in undertaking a range of duties that will include producing cost plans, assessing valuations, agreeing final accounts and resolving variations, ensuring that completed works demonstrate value for money. The workload is varied and we can be confident that there will not be a dull moment!

    In addition, the post offers the opportunity to play a role in the pre-works/construction process that will ultimately influence the planning and design of multi-million pounds worth of capital improvement works that play a big part in improving the city of Doncaster and its neighbourhoods.

    Candidate requirements

    The post requires a dedicated professional who has a minimum of a level 4 in construction, surveying or recognised equivalent or somebody who is currently studying towards this level.

    As a hardworking individual with a passion for professionalism and the ability to remain calm and clear-thinking when under pressure, the post holder will require excellent organisational skills including the ability to plan and prioritise workload in order to meet targets, timescales and deadlines in a sometimes pressured environment.

    The successful applicant for the role must be disciplined, IT literate, flexible and have a desire to improve their technical knowledge.
