SportPursuit, one of Europe’s leading sport and outdoor online retailers, is currently looking for a driven, intelligent and friendly individual who’s up for an exciting opportunity in our Finance team as the business continues to grow.
Key responsibilities in this role
Your role will be in the Management Accounts team, in a position that acts as a bridge between Management Accounts, BI and the Tax team. The three teams working cohesively is paramount to the wider success of the Finance function to ensure compliance and accurate and timely financial reporting to management. Your role will be data/SQL focused and you will act as the data ambassador within the Finance team.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include
- Assisting with monthly financial closing to ensure the numbers we report are accurate
- Assisting the Financial Controller in the development and on-going execution of the company’s financial controls
- Working with teams across the business to understand their operations and processes
- Completing regular bank reconciliations
- Ownership of regular international VAT submissions in order to meet rigid deadlines
- Engaging with external auditors to ensure financial controls are communicated effectively
- Learning how to use SQL, the language we use to access our database, to analyse financial results and find new ways of making the finance team more efficient
- Supporting the Finance team to ensure the wider team achieves departmental objectives

- Eager to develop your skills and learn new things
Nice to have but not essential
- Work experience within a finance department
- An understanding of internal and external financial reporting
- A desire to study towards an accounting qualification
- Experience with SQL

Note that you'll be expected to come into the office twice a month for this role.
