As a Planning Officer, you will take on a graduate training scheme to equip you with the skills to support development management and planning compliance services across our National Park.
As part of this four year contract, you will undertake a Master’s degree in Planning for two years, which will involve allocated study time and time in the classroom as part of your day-to-day activities. We are willing to pay for the course to be undertaken at a university of your choice.
Your role will involve
- Resolving unauthorised development planning applications
- Offering advice on planning and enforcement enquiries
- Acting upon reported breaches of planning control
- Processing planning applications and enforcement cases
- Undertaking site visits
About you
To be considered as a Planning Officer, you will need:
- The ability to communicate in both Welsh and English
- Qualifications or experience that meet university entry requirements for a Master’s Degree in Planning (normally a 2:1 honours degree, although non-standard qualifications and work experience can sometimes be accepted)
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
- To be proactive and self-motivated
- To be committed and enthusiastic
- A full, valid driving licence

- Salary of £22,369 - £24,948 (increasing to £27,852 - £32,020 on completion of qualifications)
