About this programme
Join our Hardware graduate programme and you’ll spend two years taking on varied hardware roles, rising to unique challenges and working on the kind of exciting innovative projects you just don’t find anywhere else. All while discovering first-hand how we bring millions of people the entertainment they know and love.
And the best thing is you don’t have to specialise too soon. From system architecture to testing and compliance, this programme lets you taste it all before deciding on the career path that suits you best.
What you’ll be doing
This programme gives you exposure to several different areas of hardware engineering. Over the course of two years, you’ll take on three 8 month rotations in the following areas:
- Product Design (system architecture, schematics and layout)
- Testing and Compliance
- Research and Development
From the start, you’ll get going with current live projects contributing to the company, as well as working on new and upcoming ideas. You’ll have opportunities to work alongside great and talented people. Plus, you’ll get lots of freedom to try out new ideas and shape where our multibillion-pound business goes next. And by the end of the scheme, you’ll have developed all the core skills you need to take on your first permanent role.
Transferable soft skills including:
- Collaboration
- Problem solving
- Presentation and report writing
Hard skills including:
- Schematic design
- CAD layout
- Compliance testing
- Product reliability testing
- Understanding product lifecycles
This programme would lead to various roles based in electronic engineering – including, but not limited to:
- Hardware engineer
- Layout engineer
- Test engineer
- Compliance engineer
- Engineering manager.
What we’re looking for
There’s two types of requirements for this programme.
Education:
You have or will be graduating soon with a degree in any engineering or related field.
Other skills you may have include:
- A passion for technology
- Staying up to date with the latest technology developments
- A can-do attitude and the desire to contribute into this very dynamic and fast-moving market sector
- Effective collaboration
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Your application journey
Step 1 – Submit your application.
We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and anything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience.
Once your application has been submitted, you’ll be invited to complete our immersive digital assessments. This may land in your junk folder so don’t forget to check it.
Step 2 – Complete our online digital assessment.
This looks at your Sky fit and business fit. Why not pop onto our dedicated Preparation Hubto familiarise yourself with the digital assessment before applying. You’ll have the opportunity to practice beforehand, so please read our email instructions carefully. We’ve added some tips to help you along the way.
Step 3 – Attend our in-person assessment centre
For the final stage, we’ll invite you to our assessment centre and give you siome tasks to get to know you better. The day will give you a practical insight into what it’s like to work as a Hardware Graduate and will assess your technical aptitude.
Once you’ve completed your assessment day, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us.
