We are a global marine geoscience and technology business. We are pioneers using ground-breaking technology to study what lies beneath the ocean floor. We help energy companies plan ahead, accelerating responsible use of the planet’s resources. We provide marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software. Our teams offer unparalleled acquisition capability to our clients, providing them with the tools they need to reduce exploration risks and maximise their production efficiency.

This is a fantastic time to join Shearwater as we expand our teams to meet the seismic exploration challenges of the future.

Ready to navigate the waters of geophysics?

We are looking for graduates to join our UK Processing and Imaging team. You’ll be based in Gatwick.

Marine seismic surveys provide imaging of the seabed and beneath so exploration and production companies can make better informed decisions about the energy supplies of the future. Without a clear picture they can’t make clear decisions.

Our team of experienced scientists provide clarity by bringing the highest quality 2D, 3D and 4D imaging for all seismic challenges in every geological environment.
Kick starting your career in Geophysics, you’ll have the chance to learn our technology and workflows, whilst developing skills in signal processing and modelling.

You’ll do this as part of a collaborative team, collectively striving towards ambitious goals.

And when you combine this with our dedicated Global Early Years development programme (Waves), you will see why Shearwater could be the ideal place to start your seismic story.

Technically speaking

You’ll hold a BSc or above in science, maths or geoscience, combined with work experience in a customer-oriented role.
During your studies you will have gained experience in effective project management, developing your skills in organisation and prioritisation.

In personal terms

Our teams want you contribute to projects from day one. So you need to be comfortable with independent problem solving, but bold enough to ask questions.
Attention to detail is key, as well as a naturally organised working style, so that you can contribute to project updates and share information with your peers successfully.

The recruitment process

We regularly review candidate submissions whilst applications are open.

Our aim is to complete first stage (Teams) interviews during December with final stage experience days being held in our offices in Gatwick in January.
