We have a fantastic opportunity for a Construction Summer Placement.
As a summer placement student, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on live construction sites, working closely with seasoned professionals in the construction and steelwork industry. You’ll assist in various areas of site operations, including site coordination, safety management, quality assurance, and technical support. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your academic learning in a real-world setting.

Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial &; distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!

Key responsibilities
Assist the site management team with daily operational tasks• Learn about site safety, quality control, and scheduling processes• Support with monitoring construction progress and reporting on milestones• Work alongside our engineers and supervisors to understand project delivery
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes• Help with material management and liaising with suppliers
What we’re looking for
- A current student studying a Construction-related degree or course
- Strong interest in gaining practical site experience in the construction industry
- Proactive attitude with a passion for learning
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team in a vibrant and fast-paced environment• A keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills
