Financial solutions are playing an increasingly important role in the reinsurance industry as a powerful tool for insurers in capital management and financial optimisation. The solutions are structured and tailor-made to help insurers manage volatility of cash flows and P&L, improve solvency capital position or address liquidity strain across wide spectrum of life insurance products.

    The role

    Globally, the team of Financial Solutions is comprised of 30 reinsurance specialists throughout the world. We cooperates with the local traditional market teams on the end-to-end process of reinsurance transactions from client pitch, client/broker communication, portfolio and experience analysis, pricing, structuring and modeling, term negotiation, internal approval, treaty review, and deal monitoring. We work closely with different functions in the company in all stages. With our team, you will gain solid knowledge in capital management and Financial Solutions and develop relevant technical knowledge in pricing, structuring, modelling, etc.

    Responsibilities 

    • Support transaction management as part of internal processes
    • Assist and perform the structuring and pricing of Financial Solutions according to SCOR’s pricing methodology
    • Perform data analysis for transactions to understand the underlying risks
    • Prepare marketing materials and analysis for local underwriters and client meetings
    • Conduct credit analysis and solvency analysis on target clients
    • Follow change in regulation (Solvency 2, IFRS 17)
    • Perform and review Solvency II benchmarks analysis and present to local underwriters

    Required experience and competencies

    • Fluent English is required (writing and speaking)
    • The candidate should be at ease using Microsoft package, in particular Excel
    • The candidate should have some knowledge of insurance products, insurance regulation (e.g., Solvency II) and/or accounting standards (IFRS) and/or capital/risk management
    • The candidate should be self-motivated, self-starter, have the ability to work as part of a team, have good communication skills
    • The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
    • Proficiency and experience in data analytics tool such as Power BI and Tableau will be a plus

    Required education

    • Masters degree or equivalent in Actuary, Insurance, and/or Finance
    • We are ideally looking to speak with candidates who are available to commence within the next 3 months.

    This is a 23 month contract so you must have full working rights for the UK. No sponsorship will be given.
