The Advanced Analytics team is part of Risk Methodology and whose aim is to help develop, enhance, and innovate the models and methodologies used within Risk and beyond through research and development activities.

The candidate will be involved in research, development and delivery of quantitative models using machine learning techniques.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the design, build and implementation of IRB and pricing models using machine learning techniques
  • Perform research into new corporate products and modelling approaches
  • Support work with universities and wider engagement and collaboration across Methodology, both in the UK and across the world
  • Use mathematical and technical skills to provide quantitative analysis and support to senior management and other risk departments on ad hoc basis

What you will bring

  • A degree in a numerate discipline (for example Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science)
  • Ability to code in at least one of the programming languages (SAS, VBA, R, Python, C++)

It would also be nice for you to have

  • Experience in building complex statistical modelling including innovative techniques, such as machine learning, within a Financial services environment
  • Understanding of the model development lifecycle from design, through build, documentation, validation and governance
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to share complex ideas to various stakeholder at varying degrees of seniority

  • This role is based in London or Milton Keynes with flexibility working from home
