Credit Scoring is an essential tool in risk management and is used extensively across Santander to manage the risk of decisions made by the business. You’ll join our Decision Science team, developing and managing risk models and scorecards.
As a Quantitative Analyst you’ll work as part of a team supporting the development and management of risk models. You’ll utilise mathematical and technical methodologies to provide quantitative analytics - supporting management, other risk departments and business portfolio teams. Your fantastic communication skills will provide stakeholders with the required understanding of the models to allow key decisions to be made.
The difference you'll make
Applying coding skills and modelling techniques assisting the development of new risk models – to support the business in managing customer lending
- Producing and reviewing model monitoring reports for existing risk models, explaining the impact of any changes in model performance to key stakeholders
- Communicating with the local business units to understand requirements and ensure that models and model management deliver on these
- Contributing to the documentation of model developments to support model approval and implementation
- Responding to governance queries, such as from audit or the regulator
What you’ll bring
High degree of mathematical literacy, with a 2:1 degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline (e.g. for example Maths, Statistics, Sciences, Engineering or Operational Research)
- An aptitude for working with data, generating insights and formulating recommendations

- Strong attention to detail with an excellent work ethic
- The ability to think logically and apply programming skills
