    What will I be doing?

    The role we fulfil is to support or customers across a wide range of aircraft platforms through a range of activities, which include certification, technical programme management, independent advice, design, manufacture, testing and concept development. We work at all stages of an aircraft’s lifecycle, both military and civilian. Most commonly supporting procurement and entry of new aircraft into service, new capabilities, in service modifications or new equipment. Much of our work is desktop based with opportunities to work alongside our customers with hands on assessments and aircraft trials.

    Right now, we are looking for graduates to join our Aerospace System Engineering team which aims to apply best practice System Engineering principles in areas such as; Requirements Elicitation, Lifecycle Management, System Design, Verification & Validation and Through Life Engineering support to our aerospace projects.

    System Engineers are responsible for integrating a wide range of technical inputs to create, lead, and deliver compelling solutions. Our ideal candidate is someone who is proactive, passionate and forward thinking. Coupled with a vested interested in aerospace technology who are looking to help improve today & shape tomorrow by bringing novel thought and applying emerging concepts.

    At QinetiQ, we offer a tailored graduate development programme that includes further training to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in the field of systems engineering and aerospace. This will enable you to deliver complex technical programmes of work across our portfolio of projects. Alongside this you will develop the general business skills required to thrive in the workplace. As part of your development we encourage and support a path to Professional Registration with an Engineering Institution.

    Academic requirements

    You will need to have obtained or be studying towards a degree (with a predicted or achieved grade of at least 2:1 or equivalent) in one of the following areas (or a related subject):

    • Aerospace engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical engineering
    • Electronic Engineering
    • Systems engineering
    • Related relevant STEM subject

    Additional requirements

    • You must have graduated no earlier than 2024 OR will graduate no later than 2025.
    • High personal integrity and an ability to work well with a wide range of different people is essential.
    • A conscientious, logical and enquiring mind set is essential.
    • A willingness to work on UK military projects is essential.
    • A willingness to undertake a degree of business travel as well as flexibility to be deployed for a period away from your home site (as part of the development programme) is needed.
    • Excellent report writing skills are highly desirable.
