The Data and Performance Analyst contributes to the management of data to support delivery of business. They support the development and maintenance of appropriate data systems, ensuring effective data collection, management, security, handling, analysis and sharing.
They are part of a team that develop and deliver data analysis for reporting purposes, to support operational delivery, resource management, business planning and financial management.
The main duties of this role are
- Contribute to the production of routine and ad-hoc performance reports, data submissions and audits to share with the management team and a variety of different stakeholders, communicating statistical and analytical information.
- Provide business performance insight alongside the data, identifying trends and possible causes to allow effective decision making.
- Collaborate with service leads on capture and audit of clinical outcome data, patient satisfaction, feedback and complaints.
- Work alongside management to identify areas where audits and reports could be developed to support service improvement.
- Support the production of Performance Scorecards and Reports and contribute to discussions where areas for improvement are identified.
- Contribute to the reconciliation of activity and invoice data.
- Contribute to the management of contractor queries regarding submission and payment of invoices and credit notes.
- Work with the Data and Performance Team Manager, Provide Group Information Governance Team and Data Protection Officer to ensure plans, policies and procedures in relation to data protection are implemented, adopted and maintained.
- Undertake audits of understanding and compliance with information and governance policies and procedures
- Establish effective relationships with external contacts and partnership agencies and ensuring the business is represented as an outstanding organisation.
Qualifications and education
Essential criteria
- Training in Microsoft Office to Intermediate level.
- Education to Degree Level or equivalent level of experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- ECDL / similar qualification or equivalent experience
- Project Management Qualifications.
- Specialist Data Analysis knowledge acquired through a combination of in-depth experience and postgraduate study or equivalent demonstrable knowledge
Work related knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in business administration with experience of generating, analysing and communicating reports from clinical and non-clinical databases
- Experience in a customer/client facing role, liaising with external stakeholders.
- Experience and understanding of confidentiality and Information Governance principals with respect to protection and use of data
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience within a medical/clinical business.
- Previous experience of the design and interpretation of data and compliance to Key Performance indicators.
- Experience in leading on small business projects, ensuring delivery of actions to agreed timelines.
Skills and aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Reliable, accurate and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve queries competently and to escalate to line manager when necessary.
- Ability to organise and plan own workload effectively.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of patient-based systems such as SystmOne.
- Experience working with a finance management system such as Oracle.
