You will join us for 12 months as an Actuarial Placement Student. This is a great option for a university student wanting to do a year in industry or someone who would like a taste of the Actuarial industry.

You can expect to

  • Perform high quality analysis and producing accurate output in line with reporting, pricing, or other requirements that apply.
  • Ensure work is documented to the required audit standard.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to deliver the Actuarial and Finance team objectives.
  • Deliver all services to business and customers in a timely manner to meet expectations.
  • Carry out routine processes in line with documented procedures, and ensuring documented procedures are kept up to date.
  • Apply actuarial judgement to propose process improvements to reduce cost, whilst improving controls and increasing service.
  • Escalate risks and issues to line management in a timely manner and assisting with implementation of solution where appropriate.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data is maintained.
  • Actively support knowledge management and knowledge sharing within the Actuarial and Finance Departments.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and workshops attended.

As well as gaining technical knowledge, your personal growth story will include developing professional and soft skills alongside your qualification.  

What are we looking for? 

  • You are looking to complete a placement year during yout university course.
  • Have a genuine want to gain experience within the Actuarial industry.
  • Are studying towards an analytically based degree such as mathematics, scientific or economics based areas.
  • On track to obtaining a minimum 2:1 in your degree.
