    Junior Buyer (FTC)

    The Junior Buyer Role reports to a Buyer/Category Manager, working together to deliver the best ranges for our customer, as well as operating in the wider team structure such as Sourcing, Product Innovation and Merchandising.

    The role will have a larger degree of buying responsibility and is the second step to becoming a buyer or category manager. The aim is to deliver a profitable customer centric range and provide day to day support to a Buyer/category manager. What you’ll be responsible for as an Junior Buyer:

    • Work with the Buyer/CM or Senior on developing a customer centric range with the right price architecture and quality standards
    • Supplier liaison/ building and maintaining relationships with both overseas factories and UK based brands.
    • Responsibility for critical path management, from initial briefing and sampling right through to product launch
    • Cost price and supplier funding negotiation to support the delivery of margin targets
    • Range planning and product development for ranges they are responsible for
    • Preparation and attendance of departmental strategy and sign off sessions
    • Reviewing weekly and seasonal sales performance with a focus on the best and worst sellers and actions to drive their area
    • Monitoring the market and customer activity through competitive shops, sales and trend analysis
    • Delivery of newness stories across multiple platforms for in season and future seasons
    • Attends weekly and monthly squad trade meetings
    • Regular website checks for product set up issues and fixing (where necessary)
    • Day to day development and motivation of BAAs and ABs under the guidance of the Buyer/Senior

    What you will need to succeed as an Junior Buyer

    • Relevant degree and the ability to demonstrate the required level of skills through work-experience
    • Excellent administrative, communication and organisation skills
    • A keen interest in homeware and customer first
    • Driven, motivated and action oriented
    • Experience essential

    Ways of working

    • We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!
    • Our full-time working hours are 36.17 per week over 5-days. We don’t have strict working hours therefore there is some flexibility around start and finish times as long as you are meeting the needs of the business.
