We are looking for Paralegals with a passion for a career in law and excellent communication skills to join our growing and ambitious legal practices in Guernsey, on a fixed term contract.

    In this role, you'll work with our experienced and diverse teams on a wide range of cross border matters in a variety of areas of practice for clients from a multitude of industries including leading financial institutions, corporates, private equity houses and investments funds.

    About the role

    Under the support and mentorship of the experienced Partners and fee-earners in the team, you'll:

    • Obtain clear instructions from fee earners, and in some instances from clients, providing legal advice and preparing relevant documentation for fee earner review
    • Review and prepare documents, such as briefings, presentations, practice notes, templates and precedents
    • Conduct legal research
    • Organise workload and promptly communicate anticipated workload and delivery challenges
    • Ensure that fee earners’ time is used efficiently by organising queries and seeking to identify own solutions to problems
    • Accurately copy and collate court documents (otherwise known as ‘bundling’) – Litigation practice
    • Act as a point of contact for clients, intermediaries and external parties.

    About you

    • Degree equivalent qualification
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent organisation skills, time management and prioritisation
    • A proactive approach to the working environment and the willingness to develop existing skills and update legal knowledge by way of additional training
    • Attention to detail and ability to preserve a high degree of confidentiality
    • Ability to work under pressure, often within tight deadlines
    • Good level of computer literacy
    • A proactive approach, showing initiative and enthusiasm
