The Art Assembly is an affiliation of major international art fairs with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region comprising ART SG, Taipei Dangdai, and Tokyo Gendai. It represents a joint initiative between three of the world’s leading art fair organisers headed by Sandy Angus, Tim Etchells and Magnus Renfrew. The Art Assembly’s member fairs provide an important meeting place for the local and international art worlds and act as regional focal points for creative and commercial exchange. Informed by a deep-rooted understanding of the local market, each event is tailored to its unique orientation.

The Art Assembly aims to drive innovation, deepen engagement with contemporary art and encourage cross-cultural conversations. It achieves this by strengthening collaboration and promoting knowledge and resource sharing across the group. The role

Working closely with and reporting to the Director Gallery Relations, (and indirectly the Global Director and individual Fair Directors), you will contribute to the overall success of a portfolio of three art fairs - ART SG, Taipei Dangdai and Tokyo Gendai - with a particular focus on sales support via email campaigns, over the telephone, and face to face.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic sales professional who has a desire to achieve set targets. Ideally you should have a clear understanding of the international art market and the role art fairs play, with a particular focus on east Asia. You should be detail oriented, with an understanding of digital CRM systems, excellent organisational and communication skills. This role will suit a team player who has a flexible approach to tasks and who can work effectively under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Director Gallery Relations to generate outbound leads / set up meetings via email campaigns, over the telephone, and face to face
  • Provide exceptional account management, using and managing the CRM system, for all gallery contact, understanding client history, whilst maintaining it is accurate and up to date
  • Data entry and maintenance of gallery records on the CRM system, build dashboards to generate statistics and sales reports
  • Research and preparation of sales materials
  • Timely and thoughtful follow-up to establish trust and strong relationships with prospects
  • Providing support to Gallery Liaison teams across portfolio as required
  • Attending weekly sales meetings for each fair, with awareness of the meeting objectives, participation requirements, weekly reporting and ensuring actions are acted on and reviewed
  • Researching and benchmarking art fair participation fees - keeping updated records of latest information
  • Development of gallery target list to encourage attendance and consideration of future participation in portfolio of fairs
  • Maintain communication with gallery target list attending each fair and to arrange their programme during the fair
  • Possibility of international travel, as required
