We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Assistant in our London office:

The PR communications team are responsible for driving the creative development, execution and roll out of the PR/media communications and celebrity strategy across Europe for this dynamic, fast paced and innovative brand.

Who you are

A self-starter, enthusiastic, hands-on person with a great deal of autonomy

What you’ll do

  • Assist the Communications Department with all European press requests, in addition to any sample requests arising internally, being directly responsible for the following countries: UK & Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Iceland, Finland, Hungary and Slovakia
  • Responsible for booking out samples, coordinating messenger pickups, international shipping and following up to ensure timely return of all samples to avoid possible missed opportunities
  • Support with sending out any confirmed Celebrity dressing requests handled by the Communications Coordinator and Communications Manager
  • Update sample loan out / return tracker, maintain the PR Cupboard neatly organized throughout the season and archiving older collections
  • Send seasonal assets (look books, images, etc.) out to press with the support of the Communications Coordinator as well as confirmed editorial credits
  • Monitor the media in both print and online, including newspapers, magazines, broadcasts, social media platforms for any brand coverage
  • Assist / support on all lists and invitations for catwalk shows / resees, monitor on press coverage
  • Archiving all press clippings both print and online and scanning of all print coverage
  • Support on maintaining the press contacts database – ensuring this is kept up to date
  • Assist with compiling weekly coverage updates to the wider team and business
  • Actively keeping up to date with industry changes and potential outlets/talent that might be interesting for the brand to work with
  • Support on seasonal press days, meeting press and building key relationships with junior editorial teams
  • Assist in calling and sending personal thank you notes (gifts where applicable) to editors for resulted coverage
  • Participate in team brainstorming

You’ll need to have

  • Excellent MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Strong digital PR background, preferably across both editorial and celebrity
  • Ability to use initiative
  • A commitment to keeping up with and researching the continually evolving nature of innovative PR and Marketing Communications, to actively execute these ideas in a timely manner to keep Michael Kors ahead of the game
