Matalan is looking for a Commercial Finance Assistant to join our team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail business, supporting the financial management of key projects and capital investments.

    Key responsibilities in this role

    • Ensure all purchase orders (POs), receipts, and invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and manage Capex documentation, including financial appraisals.
    • Monitor capital and revenue spend on active projects, providing weekly updates.
    • Assist with capital reconciliation alongside the Finance team.
    • Support the budget-building process in collaboration with project managers.
    • Manage accruals and ensure financial records are up to date.
    • Provide administrative and financial support to retail finance and field teams.
    • Assist with month-end procedures and capital management.
    • Respond to general store inquiries and ad hoc requests.

    About you

    • You will have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, and accurately.
    • Experience in raising and managing POs and financial paperwork.
    • Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
    • You will have a collaborative working approach to ensure consistency in financial management and a strong understanding of:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Oracle Financial
