The Bid Management team are highly respected and engaged across the entire organisation in support of our client business development work. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Bid Manager to join our team.

What is involved?

The Bid Management team work on both new business opportunities and the process of keeping current clients. This involves engaging with senior stakeholders across Lockton to ensure that timelines are met, content is delivered, tailored, and presented in a professional client-facing document. From day one, you’ll go into a real role with real responsibilities.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to work across all sectors and all lines of insurance on providing the technical content for the bid. In addition to this you will work with the design team to ensure a polished and professional final product that will be sent to the client / prospect. You will have the opportunity to get to know the whole of Lockton and build your network across the entire business.

At its core the Junior Bid Manager role centres around bid planning, stakeholder management, and content creation.

Qualifications

As a Junior Bid Manager, you will learn about the full bid management process and subsequently ensure its successful delivery, including:

  • Understanding the key elements to include in the bid documentation, from technical broking information to analytics / risk finance, risk management and claims.
  • How to identify and structure compelling information for the client / prospect, ensuring every bid is unique and tailored to opportunity, to differentiate Lockton from our competitors.
  • Support the team in preparation for an impactful presentation to the client / prospect with both materials and presentation coaching, to allow them to best sell the Lockton offering.
  • Work with the design team to produce high quality bid documentation and presentation material.

This is a non-rotational Graduate opportunity where you will be a part of a strong team of experienced Bid Managers, as well as being enrolled on to training programmes to gain professional insurance qualifications.

What skills and experience would we like you to have?

  • Recent graduate or with some work experience, preferably within the Insurance industry or project management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication are key for this role, and the ability to interact with a lot of different people.
  • Ideally you will have an inquisitive mindset and a passion for precision and accuracy.
  • You are an organised person who thrives on deadlines and structure.
  • If you’re a brilliant communicator who enjoys building relationships and working effectively in teams, you’ll fit right in.
