    The Operations Executive plays a crucial role in supporting our digital operations across History Hit, FAST, and Network departments. This role is pivotal in managing the seamless flow of content, including but not limited to originally produced longform History Hit programmes and licensed content, both internally for our YouTube and FAST channels and externally through deliveries to VOD & OTT partners and platforms. The position requires a good understanding of video encoding/transcoding workflows, file delivery processes, meticulous project management, quality assurance.

    As the role will be supporting individual but strategically connected operational workflows, the Operations Executive needs to have effective communication and time management skills as well as technical knowledge and attention to detail to spot day-to-day process improvements and tackle issues with deliverables throughout the content supply chain.

    How you'll spend your time

    • Assessing files ahead of delivery, spot checking deliverables for quality assurance, advising fixes to files to adhere to required technical specifications.
    • Implement day-to-day process improvements to improve efficiency in the content supply chain.
    • Escalate queries and flags on files to relevant departments and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
    • Relabelling assets in accordance with Little Dot Studios Asset IDs.
    • Encoding and transcoding of video files to fit our specifications and those of our clients.
    • Support with organising rushes, production assets and non-video assets in line with relevant team needs, alongside tracking and availability of files in our project management system.
    • Utilise project management tools to effectively support the content supply chain and ensure timely and accurate delivery of assets.
    • Support and assist with the ongoing delivery of content to multiple AVOD platforms.
    • Collaborate with the Content Operations team to ensure appropriate storage of materials in the company MAM (Media Asset Management) System.
    • Work closely with Operations Executives, AVOD & FAST Operations Manager and Head of Network Operations on key cross-functional projects.
    • Collate and organise metadata, ancillary material and promotional materials for transfer and delivery internally as well as to AVOD & OTT platforms.
    • Open to using automation, building scripts, creating Google Sheets formulas or leveraging AI tools to speed up processes.
    • Processing of content, editing and removal of part breaks if required.
    • Supporting the wider department with ad-hoc requests when needed.

    What you need to succeed

    Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.

    • A strong understanding of the technical aspects of video codecs and wrappers, including the ability to assess client specifications and deliverables.
    • Working knowledge or a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Cloud software.
    • Ability to manage large quantities of video and non-video assets, paying particular attention to detail.
    • Working knowledge of project management and PM tools (e.g. Asana).
    • An understanding of cloud storage, MAMs, file delivery methods and remote machines.
    • A good understanding of Google Sheets and using formulas to speed up work.
    • Knowledge of YouTube’s CMS/Studio (Desirable).
    • Experience with automation, creating scripts and using AI tools to speed up processes (desirable).
