The role

The role of the Junior Channel Manager is to work across the digital output and operations for a selection of our exciting sports clients. For the right candidate, this can be an entry-level position. You will be proactive, enthusiastic, and enjoy coming up with creative ideas and solutions. You will have a strong knowledge of how YouTube works and what content resonates on the platform and be confident in sharing this expertise with your clients and colleagues. Our team works with a variety of clients from across the sporting spectrum but an interest in cricket and other sports would be a definite plus. Being driven to tell stories and engage fans across the world of sport is a must.

Regular weekend and evening work to support across sports events should be expected, with time off in lieu.

How you'll spend your time

  • Assist with the day-to-day running of your channels, including ideating, planning and publishing content to digital channels (primarily YouTube).
  • Additional tasks include community management, metadata, and thumbnail creation.
  • Monitoring of analytics and content performance, as well as sharing that information with other team members to inform ongoing content planning and ideation.
  • Supporting the Partnerships Manager to achieve strategic goals such as viewership or revenue growth.
  • Contributing to the day-to-day client relationship by being an expert on your channels, providing feedback, sharing your knowledge/expertise, and contributing ideas.

What you need to succeed

Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.

  • A passion for content and engaging audiences.
  • Editorial planning: You will have strong editorial skills to ensure content plans are creative and work alongside the overall strategy.
  • Creativity and ideation: You will come up with creative ideas and suggestions and be confident in sharing those ideas with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong digital knowledge: You will have experience working across YouTube, with knowledge of other platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X a definite bonus.
  • Knowledge of video and image editing platforms and workflows is of benefit (Adobe Premiere and Photoshop).
  • Analytical: You will want to know why content performs well or badly, and be able to quickly learn to navigate social analytics tools to find this out. You will be able to use these learnings to inform ongoing strategy and content ideas.
  • Attention to detail: particularly regarding the accurate implementation of brand guidelines, spelling and grammar.
  • A proactive communicator: Your communication skills will help to ensure workflows run smoothly, issues are flagged and knowledge is shared on a consistent basis.
  • Solutions focused: Working with the team to overcome challenges & find solutions - and deriving real satisfaction from a job well done.
