Programme management graduate programme

JLR is on a journey, a journey to Reimagine. As a Programme Management graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact on a range of exciting projects across JLR. You’ll have access to some of the most innovative and visionary industry experts, networking opportunities and invaluable industry insight. 

You could work within Vehicle Programmes, Propulsion Engineering, the People (HR) function or within our Industrial Operations Programme Delivery (IOPD) team. Along the way, you’ll gain a customer-centric view of how to satisfy evolving needs and accelerate delivery to reduce time-to-market, using Agile principles to transform the way we think and work.

The programme takes two years to complete and during that time, you’ll rotate through a variety of teams across the business. This exposure to different projects and key stakeholders means you can grow your network and expand your skills at the same time, building the exceptional long-term career you’ve proved you're capable of.

Vehicle programmes team

Our Vehicle Programmes team spans across Product Strategy, Programme Management, Business Transformation, Jaguar Electrified Architecture, Vehicle Technologies, Vehicle Accessories and Vehicle Personalisation. In short, we bring together a full enterprise of divisions within JLR to deliver the high-quality, modern luxury our customers have come to expect and love.

As a Programme Management graduate, you’ll help support the integration of this enterprise - delivering commercially successful products on time and to quality standards, and ensuring we fulfil our brand and customer promise throughout their lifecycles. 

If you join this team, you’ll have the opportunity rotate through a variety of placements both within and outside of Vehicle Programmes. You’ll use your innovation and creativity every day as you develop the skills you need to become a great leader. You’ll learn how to work in an Agile environment, improve your presentation skills, and build relationships with key stakeholders around the business. Upon completion of your graduate programme and the experience gained through your placements, you may be suitable for roles such as Project Analyst, Scrum Master, and Project Planner.

Propulsion team

Propulsion engineering at JLR is changing - bringing power, performance and connectivity together to create the future of exceptional and environmentally friendly driving experiences. 

Our iconic brands are the foundation of exemplary British engineering, but now we’re using cutting-edge research and technology to develop the next generation of electric drive units, energy storage devices, engines, batteries, transmissions and drivelines. 

We’re a global team, with testing facilities and offices all around the world. With this kind of global presence and our £15bn investment in the electrification of our luxury brands, Propulsion is where modern luxury comes to life. And bringing all this together requires the input and expertise from specialists across the organisation to ensure that our programmes are on time, within budget and delivering exceptional quality to our customers.

Graduates in this team can expect to work on the software delivery plans for our battery and high-voltage (HV) control system – a product that will service all our future electrified platforms, including Range Rover Electric and Jaguar. Working in this team, you’ll plan and coordinate customer deliveries, while helping to prioritise content and resolve issues to keep us on schedule.

People (HR) team

From attraction through to lasting impressions, the people experience we deliver has the power to make a real impact. Right now, in the spirit of our overarching Reimagine strategy, we’re driving an ambitious people transformation agenda. After all, the next-generation of luxury, sustainable cars will be powered by our next-generation of talent. 

Working within our People chapter, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key part in transforming our people experience agenda, working on projects in either our Corporate Security & Business Protection (CSBP), Property or People Digital Experience.

Within our CSBP team you’ll provide support across a number of projects on the CSBP roadmap. You may find yourself working on how the people experience can be enhanced through physical infrastructure, process enhancement and Digital. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain experience in areas such as communication, engagement, risk identification and management and project governance.

In Property, you’ll support our development and continuous improvement journey. This could include working on our Property Pipeline and links, or gateways and departmental/corporate approval processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to support us in areas such as the Property Programmes Gateways Process, Risk Management, Change and Controls Management, and the digitalisation of our processes.

Within the People Digital Experience space, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and deliver improvements to business processes within HR. Using Agile and waterfall methodology, you’ll focus on improving efficiency, quality and the employee experience. – developing your programme management skills to ensure governance, risk, time and resources are effectively managed and delivered.

 Industrial operations programme delivery (IOPD) team

Uniting cross-functional teams, our Industrial Operations Programme Delivery team ensure we deliver the most sustainable manufacturing solution for all our vehicle and unit programmes.

In this team, you'll learn how manufacturing delivers new programmes and vehicles from initial concept through to finished mass production. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders from both within and outside the wider manufacturing group, including Manufacturing Engineering, Programme Management, Product Engineering and Quality.

As a graduate, you’ll support the tracking and resolution of manufacturing and programme issues to achieve product feasibility and ensure we deliver on time. You’ll input into areas such as launch quality deliverables, the high hurts process and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA). Finally, you’ll learn how to collect, co-ordinate and analyse technical and investment inputs for programme gateway submission, while focusing on capital investment and cost per unit.

As a graduate, you’ll join a bespoke learning programme designed and delivered in partnership with our external training partner, Ashorne Hill. You’ll build essential business skills, including resilience, decision making and problem solving, personal branding, and self-care. Plus, you’ll have dedicated off-the-job learning time and the ongoing support of our Early Careers Delivery team, who will be with you throughout your journey.   

During the programme, you’ll sharpen your creative and strategic thinking, develop leadership skills, and contribute to key business projects. By the time you finish, you’ll be ready to make an impact and play a vital role in shaping the future of JLR.

What you’ll need

To join the Programme Management Graduate Programme, you’ll need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in any discipline. 

We’re looking for someone with intermediate-level technical literacy, a passion for problem-solving, and the curiosity to understand business challenges and collaborate to deliver innovative solutions. 

Rewards and benefits  

Our 2025 graduate programme salary is £32,000, with a £2,000 joining bonus to welcome you to JLR. After two years, you will progress from the graduate programme on a £39,000 salary. In addition, JLR offer a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, excellent pension provisions and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from well-known retailers and sports clubs.
