Industrial operations: Procurement supplier technical assistance (STA) graduate programme

Our STA team are responsible for the quality of suppliers we use across our entire vehicle portfolio. Their work touches on every part that goes into our cars, ensuring we deliver modern luxury with excellence at every touchpoint.

When you join our team, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in almost every aspect of the manufacturing process for our vehicles – developing your problem-solving skills as you address quality concerns and learning how to tackle unexpected challenges at various stages of the vehicle lifecycle.

By the end of the programme, you’ll have an extensive knowledge of our approval process for all parts, be the reassuring point of contact for suppliers in distress, and a champion of delivery as you generate efficient processes for supplying new vehicles.

As you develop your technical knowledge, you’ll also start to build and maintain relationships with key contacts from across the business and within our supply base. You’ll learn how to confidently manage stakeholders and suppliers, growing your own professional network as you help to shape ours.

The programme takes two years to complete and during that time, you’ll undertake four six-month placements in areas such as plant, new model launch and supplier management. This gives you the opportunity to expand your skills and gain experience in a wide range of procurement functions.

Once you’ve completed the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a role within STA that’s tailored to your interests, experience and skill sets – meaning you can take your career to the next level in a business you’re already familiar with.

Your development

Our graduate programme is all about helping you grow and thrive. You’ll get to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, build connections, and gain valuable insights that will set you up for success.

As a graduate, you’ll join a bespoke learning programme designed and delivered in partnership with our external training partner, Ashorne Hill. You’ll build essential business skills, including resilience, decision making and problem solving, personal branding, and self-care. Plus, you’ll have dedicated off-the-job learning time and the ongoing support of our Early Careers Delivery team, who will be with you throughout your journey.

During the programme, you’ll sharpen your creative and strategic thinking, develop leadership skills, and contribute to key business projects. By the time you finish, you’ll be ready to make an impact and play a vital role in shaping the future of JLR.
