The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a skilled team, undertaking the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plant, with a particular focus on their core discipline.

    This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise and a proactive approach to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

    Key responsibilities include liaising with managers, medical, nursing, and other client staff to support seamless service delivery.

    Key responsibilities

    • Primarily reactive plumbing work, with general building services tasks
    • Monthly maintenance checks on AHUs, Foil Coil Units, filters, and belts
    • PPMs, including servicing and mixing valve maintenance
    • Mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations following safety protocols
    • Diagnose faults and recommend spares/materials
    • Complete reactive repairs within set timescales
    • Report work progress daily to the Estates Officer
    • Support efforts to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
    • Maintain accurate records for reporting and statistics

    Professional and personal competencies/qualifications

    • Knowledge of HTMs – ventilation, Health Technical Memoranda beneficial but not essential
    • Someone looking to progress and lead on-site in the future
    • Facilities background in a similar environment or office building, completing PPMs and reactive works
    • C&G or NVQ Plumbing, Mechanical-based qualifications
