    Join IQVIA as a Biostatistician Intern in the Real-World Evidence and Methods Generation team and help us deliver high-quality scientific research to our clients in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.  The internship offered by the group is an arrangement where IQVIA aims to provide an entry-level candidate with an opportunity to apply their studies in a professional setting on live client projects related to their field of study.

    The role

    Your primary responsibilities as a Biostatistician Intern in our team will be wide ranging, but may involve:

    • Supporting the design, execution and reporting of real-world database (RWD) studies
    • Contributing to the writing of analysis sections of study protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and study reports
    • Conducting elements of statistical analyses on real-world databases as specified in the SAP
    • Cleaning and preparing small to large-sized real-world healthcare databases
    • Supporting with developing abstracts, manuscripts or presentations to conferences for projects
    • Supporting the writing of proposals for RWD studies when requests for proposals are received by clients
    • Contributing to internal initiatives for the advancement of innovative and efficient statistical approaches
    • Completion of training in project delivery and statistical or epidemiological methods

    To be successful in this role you will need

    • To be currently studying for (or completed) an MSc or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science or in a related discipline
    • Statistical programming skills in a statistical package (ideally R)
    • Ideally some experience working with large, real-world healthcare datasets
    • Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines
    • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines
    • Strong verbal communication and scientific writing skills
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written) – please submit your CV in English

    Preferred qualities

    • Some exposure to the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
    • Experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective database studies
    • Publications in peer reviewed journals and/or abstracts in scientific conferences
