Description of role
As a FIG M&A Analyst, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to provide expert advice and build strong relationships with both existing and potential clients on various corporate finance matters, including disposals, acquisitions, fundraisings, and mergers.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and further developing relationships with existing clients.
- Prepare client proposals and pitches for new business opportunities.
- Support the client team in the successful execution of transactions, including the preparation and review of transaction documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues as required.
- Learn to develop, market, and sell new business ideas to clients or potential clients.
- Identify, target, and win new clients.
- Maintain up-to-date sector knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Understand Investec's broader capabilities.
- Ensure all communications with clients, intermediaries, and business contacts are appropriately captured in the CRM system.
Core skills and knowledge
- Detailed, up-to-date knowledge of all applicable rules and regulations, including FCA regulations (such as FCA, AIM, City Code on Takeovers).
- Commitment to acting with integrity and treating clients fairly.
- Ability to develop and build relevant market, sector, and technical knowledge.
- Strong understanding and preparation of financial analysis, valuation, and modelling techniques.
- Competent knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation solutions.
- Effective client interaction skills for business generation and execution.
- Ability to use relevant IT applications proficiently.
