About the role

In this 23-month contract position, you will be a Graduate Intern Facilities Technician participating as part of a shift team working on the facilities systems on the Leixlip Campus as part of the Ireland Corporate Services (CS) group.

Full training and certification packages will be provided to enable you to complete the duties below:

  • Safely troubleshoot errors, performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of equipment to maintain manufacturing uptime.
  • Conducts preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance inspections and procedures.
  • Work performed within generally defined parameters.
  • Some degree of judgment and troubleshooting skill required in resolving nonstandard problems.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Support of continuous improvement and small equipment projects.
  • Process control through continuous use of quality monitoring systems.

This is a shift role

The successful candidate will be required to work Compressed Work Week shift: (Front End or Back End) or Intel 7 day compressed Work Week rotating Shift based on Business need.

Intel rotating shift involves

  • Day Shift Rota
  • 1 month / 4 weeks Night Shift Rota
  • 1 month / 4 weeks B E-FE Rota Swap
  • 6 monthly Hours of work 07:00 - 19:20 and 19:00 - 07:20

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • The position is open to candidates who are about to complete their qualifications or are a graduate who have qualified within the last 2 years.
  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical background, Fitting, Plumbing or similar.
  • NCEA Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics engineering or equivalent. FETAC / NQF level 6 or 7.

Additional experience that would be an advantage

  • Be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs / 13.6 kg and work ergonomically within in confined spaces.
  • Be able to perform job roles and responsibilities while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Be able to work from heights and climb ladders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, strong organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work well in diverse team environment.
  • Be able to maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Be able to follow procedures.
