IKM Testing in Aberdeen are recruiting a Junior Engineer to join our Pipeline Operations Team.
The role
This is an entry level position for new Engineers coming into the business with an expected training programme of 24 months. The majority of tasks in the first year are aimed at familiarising individuals with the work environment, especially related to Quality, Health, and Safety and Environment. They will be given basic training in equipment operations spending the first few months working in the workshop and yard before becoming a member of a site crew at onshore and offshore locations. During the initial training phase, the Engineer will be supervised in all tasks.
The first 12 to 18 months will be spent working as a Technician, gaining valuable on-site experience. During this time the Engineer will be expected to complete an engineering exercise such as the development of a piece of equipment, improving existing equipment or reviewing and developing engineering calculation sheets. As the training period progresses, the Engineer will spend more time in the office assisting engineering teams in the preparation of project specific procedures and equipment mobilisation lists. On site the emphasis will shift to gaining supervisory experience and client liaison.
Responsibilites
- Complete onshore equipment maintenance induction and yard experience programme:
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of equipment including pressure testing equipment, preparation of certification packs, inspection of equipment following check lists etc.
- Assist the Mobilisation Co-ordinator in preparing and loading equipment to mobilise to site.
- Tasks will include pulling together and checking equipment against mobilisation lists, loading equipment onto containers, loading trucks with the forklift etc.
- Assist in the preparation of project specific procedures and mobilisation lists.
- Assist in completion of tenders.
- Adhere to Company's policies and procedures.
Requirements
Essential:
- HND or Ordinary Degree in any Engineering discipline.
