We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Wills and LPA Drafter supporting the Private Client Team across all our offices. The successful candidate will ( with full training) advise and take instructions from clients in relation to Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and drafting all categories of Wills. The role will work closely with all members Private Client Team who will always be on hand to provide advice and assist with more complex work. Upon completion of your training you will run your own caseload and have a challenging fee target.

This role would require you to travel and spend time in all of our offices.

In addition, you will possess the necessary attribute to be able to provide an extremely high level of client service.

The Day to Day

  • You will be responsible for all stages of producing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for our clients.
  • Attending client meetings to take instructions in advance of the preparation of Wills and LPAs and advising clients on the appropriate control of their wills.
  • It is anticipated that you will not see clients whose requirements are high net worth or “high risk”.
  • Having taken instructions, you will issue client care information to the clients and thereafter draft their Wills and LPAs.
  • Send the draft Wills and LPAs to clients for their comments
  • Follow up to check clients are happy with the content of drafts and arrange appointment for them to sign
  • Deal with billing and the storage of clients’ documents and registration of LPAs

What qualifications & experience do I need?

  • A law degree (or in the process of studying for one) would be desirable or other relevant experience obtained within a Private Client team.
  • Full training will be given in the discipline of Will and LPA drafting
  • Experience of written communications in a professional environment would be advantageous
  • Experience of working with clients or customers
  • This role is not looking for a Law graduate looking for sponsorship to qualify as a Solicitor.
