The role

Media planned and bought via demand side platforms revolutionises our industry. Today and with the use of data and technology can we target people with our advertising experiences in an unprecedented and efficient way. Our biddable team function is at the forefront of this technology and we are looking for an entry level candidate to join our team. Graduate and new industry entrants are a vital part of our team’s growing business, and we are proud to offer one of the best training schemes in the industry. You’ll be working alongside fellow enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious people who are keen to not only develop their knowledge in biddable trading but also to lead the way in its application to clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Strong desire to learn about the relevant demand side platforms (Social & Programmatic)
  • Daily campaign pacing adjustments to deliver plans to set campaign budgets
  • Daily campaign optimisation using various tools as well as Excel based data analysis.
  • Daily reporting updates to direct team
  • Weekly analysis of budget pacing and campaign performance to set KPIs
  • Weekly update of on the application of brand safety tools including blocklists
  • Weekly reports of consumer insights and performed optimisations
  • Service ad hoc reporting requests by direct team members or client planning teams
  • Develop optimisation strategies across a variety of advertisers
  • Deploy testing methodologies on campaigns under the direction of line manager
  • Show interest and desire for new product testing and implementation
  • Develop a basic understanding of the role and services of the media agency as well as the direct partners and suppliers

Who we’re looking for

  • A school leaver or graduate with a degree in an analytical-, quantitative-, comms- or marketing related discipline
  • Numerate and comfortable with data processing and interpretation
  • Confident and accurate with the English language, speaking and in writing
  • Interested in technology and motivated to learn more about new technology developments.
  • A keen problem solver
  • Good attention to detail and process orientated
  • A team player with strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to take the initiative
  • Previous active experience with data processing and analysis platforms (for example in banking sector or during degree projects) desirable, but not required
  • You have no issues putting our web camera “on” for remote calls
  • An understanding of web delivery technology, especially marketing technology (e.g. cookies, Adservers, http protocols) desirable, but not required
  • It is desirable that the candidate has an interest in advertising and can apply innovative thinking when required to develop solutions

The first stage is a 60 minute interview – the first 30 minutes is a “chemistry” in which we will introduce our agency to you, ask questions about your ambitions and show you how you would be supported by your direct and wider teams daily. The second 30 minutes will consist of a “test” in which we provide realistic scenarios to assess your maths skills and attention to detail with numbers and language.

On the back of the assessment and test in the first stage, you might be invited to a second stage interview with one or more Account Directors. The purpose of this is to give your potential Director opportunity to assess your potential fit from a chemistry and cultural point of view to their team. Following end of the second interview we may make an offer to you.

Tips for a successful interview

  • Ensure you’re taking the interview in a quiet environment – ideally a room with good lighting. Do not take the interview on-the-go or while in a bus. If you can’t be in a quiet setting at the time, we ask you to get int touch to reschedule the interview.
  • Have your camera on – we’d like to see who we’re speaking to
  • Try to understand what the role is you are applying for as much as possible and field your questions during the interviews
  • An awareness of the specialism you’re applying for – do some basic research what Paid Social and Programmatic are about – even if this is basic and not technically correct, attempt to understand what the specialism is about.
  • An awareness of Havas Media Group U.K. – do some basic research of our homepage and Google News – we appreciate your ability to give feedback on some of the services we provide and who some of our clients are.
  • Be able to explain why you would be good for the role. Think about relevant key attributes of the role and apply them to yourselves.
