The role
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Retail Operations, you'll be a key analyst in the business assisting the Business Partner supporting the c.400 Halfords Retail Stores, the outsourced Customer Care team (400+ heads) and their senior management teams.
What you'll be doing
- Budgeting & Forecasting in line with annual business cycle
- Production of Management Accounts, R&O, project opex / capex cost tracking.
- Managing Store Controllable costs, being able to articulately analyse and explain the drivers of the key area of Store Payroll to Exec level audience and ensure sufficient Governance is in place for tight cost control.
- Working closely with the Head of Customer Care, understand and drive performance of the outsourced Customer Care operation, helping to reduce cost per contact and increase Sales through that channel
- First Class business partnering support for all levels within Retail Operations.
- Help drive the business forward through assisting in production of business cases for new business initiatives
- Provide detailed CIAs of key strategic initiatives for presentation to PLC Board
- Increase business performance by reviewing weekly Retail KPIs and providing analysis and insight into areas of underperformance
- Represent Finance within the Retail Ops team therefore ensure attendance and contribution at all relevant stakeholder meetings, etc…
A bit about you
- Experience within Retail or fast paced sector preferred, eg) FMCG
- Some finance experience preferred, but open to graduates displaying the desired attributes
- Studying / planning to study CIMA
- Strong Communication & presentation skills
- Attention to detail.
- Comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable being able to handle large quantities of data
- Curious attitude and confident self starter, with desire to continuously develop self and drive business forward
- Strong excel skills
Flexible work from home options available but some travel will be required to our support centre in Redditch Worcestershire
