    The role

    As an Assistant Underwriter, you will be a pivotal member of the Marine War Risk Underwriting team. Your role involves providing essential support to enhance our underwriting services. You will contribute to maintaining high service standards, delivering technical support to the underwriting process, and contribute to the building of strong relationships with clients and brokers. In this role, you will be avital link between our customers, brokers, and the underwriting team, ensuring smooth and efficient handling of marine war risk underwriting processes.

    How you'll make an impact

    • Support pre-underwriting processes, focusing on policy wordings and pricing adequacy.
    • Liaise with brokers throughout the underwriting cycle to manage documents and credit control issues.
    • Monitor and report contract performance.
    • Assist with Accounts Receivable collections.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness in data entry and underwriting package preparation.
    • Manage administrative requirements for the Underwriting team.
    • Liaise with Underwriters for policy issuance instructions.
    • Monitor premium payments and liaise with credit control.

    About you

    • Basic knowledge of commercial insurance and regulatory requirements.
    • Interest in global issues, international relations and global trade.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Standard.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
    • Proven prioritization and time management skills.
    • High numeric competency and detail-oriented mindset.
    • Ability to work independently and within teams, managing work within tight deadlines.
