Help companies and individuals understand the impact of global mobility on their taxes whilst developing skills that’ll complement your career.
Programme overview
The future of work means a global workforce and continual change. So, as part of the Tax team’s People Advisory Services (PAS), we look at how businesses reward and relocate employees around the world – and how it affects their tax. Technology is at the forefront of the solutions we offer to our clients, and we embrace innovative thinking across our teams.
What you will be doing
- Getting a sense of the scope of our work in either Mobility or Reward in a UK & Ireland or Financial Services team.
- Contributing to real client projects.
- Managing your own work, time and deliverables with support from your team.
Eligibility for applying
If you’re in your penultimate year, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you.
We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, or in your home language if you do not hold English Language GCSE, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.
We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.
Eligibility for visa sponsorship
Please see visa sponsorship details below for this programme, for locations: London and Reading
The EY summer internship and industrial placement programmes are specifically designed as a pathway to our Graduate programme within the same business area and location. If you require EY to sponsor a work visa after university graduation we can accept applications for this vacancy on a limited basis. EY’s ability to make an offer of employment is subject to the UK immigration rules in force at the relevant time. This position is one that meets the current thresholds required for sponsorship by EY for the Graduate position. Please note, however, that EY has a set number of Certificate of Sponsorship applications that can be made each year. If you require sponsorship and this limit is reached and/or UK immigration rules are not capable of being met, this will prevent EY from being able to sponsor you and we will not be able to progress your application.
For the Graduate programme, we can sponsor using the Skilled Worker visa New Entrant salary threshold for this particular vacancy. Your eligibility for the New Entrant rate must subsist for the entire duration of the Graduate programme.
The criteria to be eligible for the New Entrant rate are (subject to change by the UK Government): you’re under 26 on the date you apply; you’re currently in the UK on a student visa studying at bachelor’s degree level or above; you’re currently in the UK on a Graduate visa and your total stay in the UK by the end of your EY Graduate programme plus the date you applied for your Graduate visa will be less than 4 years. Each visa application is unique to the individual and there may be other criteria which mean you are not eligible for visa sponsorship. EY will assess your individual circumstances and we may be required to withdraw your application or offer of employment if EY cannot sponsor your visa.

The EY summer internship and industrial placement programmes are specifically designed as a pathway to our Graduate programme within the same business area and location. We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for the Graduate programme aligned to this internship due to UK Home Office regulations. Therefore, we cannot accept applications for this role from those who would require EY sponsorship after university graduation.
We have a variety of other summer internships and industrial placements that lead to a Graduate position, complete with the support for visa sponsorship where needed. We encourage you to explore these opportunities and find the one that aligns with your career aspirations. You can find out which vacancies are able to support applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship by looking at the individual vacancy pages.
