We are now recruiting for our 2023 UK Summer Placement Programme and we are seeking exceptional people who want to spend 8 weeks at either our Fawley Refinery and Petrochemical Manufacturing site or Fife Ethylene Plant, undertaking a project delivering both business value and personal development.

What would you be doing

Placement students work in pairs or small teams to address a real life plant challenge. You could find yourself designing, coordinating, and analysing a plant optimisation trial or scoping a small capital project. There will be opportunities to think independently, take initiative and be innovative. You will receive training, supervision and coaching support, and have opportunities to interact with our highly skilled Manufacturing team and experience world scale Chemical Engineering operations.

What are we looking for

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be in the penultimate year of your degree course
  • Be expecting a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelors/Masters degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering
  • Have a minimum of three ‘A’ levels (or equivalent) of at least B grade
  • Be seeking to gain work experience on a paid Summer Placement commencing in July 2023

Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.
