This position is based at the European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT) - Harwell, UK
IMPORTANT: Due to the location of the ECSAT and current legislation of UK, only UK citizen, students enrolled in a UK university, or those with a pre-settled status (right to study) in the UK are eligible to apply for this internship.
The ESA Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme provides different types of funding opportunities including kick-starts, feasibility studies and demonstration projects. These all aim to support the development of sustainable applications and commercial opportunities available to businesses located within our ESA member states. The CIC B2B Marketing and Communications team is responsible for crafting and promoting a wide range of campaigns to both space and non-space audiences. In particular, the team’s remit is to raise awareness amongst non-space sector companies who may never have considered using space-based assets (satellite technology and data, Earth observation imagery etc.) or space-enabled services (GPS, SatNav, weather or climate monitoring etc.). The aim is to attract companies that are new to the BASS programme. In order to do this, the CIC B2B Marketing and Communications team develops a variety of content assets that are being promoted via a number of channels such as our B2B websites, Social Media platforms, online and in person events etc.

Topic of the internship: B2B Marketing and Communications for the Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme
As part of the B2B Marketing and Communications team you will work alongside experienced marketers and content editors, website and social media experts, graphic designer and event managers located in various ESA establishments. You will be involved in a variety of digital marketing and communications activities to promote the Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme and will have the opportunity to help shape the look and feel of innovative and exciting B2B campaigns. Some of these activities will include supporting the content creation of our assets including videos, photography, success stories, PowerPoint presentations, event banners and email marketing, to mention a few. You will gain valuable insights into the B2B side of the space sector and into a fast-paced and diverse B2B marketing and communications environment where you will have the chance to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural department and organisation.

Education
You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.
Additional requirements
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
- Knowledge and background in marketing and/or communications;
- Strong command of written and spoken English language;
- Strong eye for detail;
- Strong organisational and planning skills;
- Social Media savvy (LinkedIn and YouTube);
- Knowledge of web admin platforms;
- Good knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier Pro;
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
