ERM , the worlds largest pure play sustainability consultancy, have a fantastic entry level opportunity for a Marine Geoscience Associate, with a geophysical focus.
Our Marine Renewables & Infrastructure team includes an integrated geophysical and geotechnical team offering specialist services to clients across a range of sectors including marine aggregate, offshore wind, OFTO, wave and tidal energy, subsea cable installation, coastal/marine engineering, and ports/harbours developments.
Our marine team are driving the development of ERM’s Marine Centre of Excellence; a world-leading hub of marine environmental and planning consultancy services for a wide range of clients across numerous seabed user sectors and marine projects, including offshore wind.
You will be required to support a range of geoscience projects, with a focus on hydrographic and geomorphological interpretation using survey data, following appropriate support, as well as feed into technical report writing. You will interpret bathymetry, sidescan sonar, magnetometer and shallow seismic data using industry-standard software.
You’ll interrogate these data to assess seabed habitats and shallow sediments for marine aggregates, offshore renewables and marine interconnector development, and provide support in writing proposals for future projects.

About you
- Degree-qualified in a relevant marine geoscience or geophysics subject
- Experience with at least one specialist geoscience software program, such as IHS Kingdom, SonarWiz or ESRI Arc Map/ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
- Possess an understanding of offshore geophysical site investigation equipment and techniques, data acquisition/assessment
- Have a reasonable grounding in interpreting seabed features and marine geomorphology
