In this role, you will support qualified psychologists in the provision of the psychology services within the hospital and contribute to psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will undertake collaborative research projects and devise and undertake teaching and training of staff and you will engage with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that the patient is fully engaged in their care pathway.
As a Psychologist Assistant, you will assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
Your responsibilities will include
- To hold a caseload of clinical work, including carrying out individual psychological intervention
- Undertake collaborative risk assessment and management for individual patients and to provide general advice
- Carry out these duties in consultation with the Lead Psychologist and identified supervisor, and contribute to the maintenance and development of a high-quality psychological service
- To engage with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that the patient is fully engaged in their care pathway
- Contribute to the CPD of the department and service, through the dissemination of knowledge and skills
- To participate in the preparation of teaching materials
- Work in a way that complies with legislation and organisational policies and procedures on health, safety and risk management
- Manages people and applies internal processes in a fair and equal way
To be successful in this role, you'll need
- A BPS accredited recognised degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)
- Experience of working with clients in a similar or related field relevant to the post
- Experience of having completed self directed research
- To be working towards professional training
