    We have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Assistant to join our Billing team within CSG Finance Service Centre on a permanent basis, reporting directly into the Billing Supervisor, the main responsibility of the Billing Assistant will be to work as part of the Billing team in achieving accurate billing and achieve the firms billing targets. A typical day will involve liaising with partners and lawyers to resolve billing queries, updating and amending file data to ensure correct billing and processing proformas. All elements of the billing team work together to ensure efficient billing and matter management.

    What you will do

    • Responsibility for the billing of specific service lines / clients
    • Liaising and building excellent working relationships with all levels
    • Understanding the billing and data requirements to ensure effective and accurate billing
    • Sourcing and adding missing data to ensure accurate billing
    • Prompt query resolution, raising credit notes and reversals
    • Processing high volumes of invoices
    • Preparing excel bordereaux bill schedules and accompanying bill documents
    • Updating matter data
    • Investigating errors on billing guides to ensure overall compliance with client billing protocols, VAT charges and billing templates.
    • Handle confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.

    Who you are

    Essential

    • Professional, self-motivated and positive, able to demonstrate:
    • Experience in a finance function gained in professional services, preferably a law firm
    • Confident manner and personal impact to command the respect of partners
    • Flexible
    • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to work unsupervised and on one's own initiative
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly PC literate with strong systems skills, particularly in Excel, Ideally in 3E and Paperless (or similar).
    • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).

    Preferred

    • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT for law firms billing
    • Ebilling portals and experience
