A fantastic opportunity, with good long term prospects, for a paralegal to join our successful and fast-paced Planning Team.
Who we are
You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.
We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.
Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
About the role
Our Planning Team is looking for a paralegal to assist team members in both individual transactions and as part of wider project work.
Work is varied and will involve assisting with and handling all aspects of planning work including planning applications and appeals, regeneration projects and section 106 agreements. You will also research points of law for live matters and update the team and others on legal developments. You will be required to collate documents on larger matters and to assist with a variety of administrative functions for the team.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved with ad hoc projects (small and large) as and when these arise, with the assistance of other members of the team.
About you
We are looking for someone with a legal degree or legal training and would prefer you to have at least six months’ experience as a paralegal, and if this experience is within the property or planning sector this would be especially helpful. If you have less experience than this but can show a real interest in Planning work together with a history of delivering exceptional client service, we would like to hear from you. Whatever your experience, you will need excellent written and oral communication skills.
Whether you’re a graduate looking to progress on the career ladder within law, or perhaps you are looking to get back into work following a career break, then this role may be well suited to you
The work requires self-motivation and the ability to work to demanding deadlines, so you’ll need to show us that you have initiative, drive and great organisational skills.
You will be a team player and relish helping others. We expect you to be someone who takes pride in your work and who will provide a first class support service to our lawyers and clients, anticipating their needs in advance wherever possible, and paying meticulous attention to detail in all of your work.
What we can offer you
A career at Clarke Willmott will feel different to other law firms. We thrive on our individual differences and diversity because as a team, we are united by our shared values and mutual respect. Working with us you will feel empowered, valued and free to be yourself in a safe and supportive environment.
Our mission is to help you realise your full potential whilst maintaining a positive work-life balance. We provide a comprehensive learning and development programme and a range of wellbeing initiatives to support your career journey.
There’s no doubt we expect the best from our people and even the occasional extra mile. In return, your dedication and commitment to the continued success of the firm will be rewarded with a comprehensive range of flexible benefits.
