Make It York is privileged to serve as the city's destination management organisation, enhancing and promoting York as a world-class destination. Our year-round marketing campaigns in 2023, attracted 9 million visitors to York, generating a total economic impact of £1.8 billion and supporting over 16,000 full-time equivalent jobs. We keep the city centre vibrant and appealing for both residents and visitors, providing a lively market open seven days a week. Additionally, we assist with the delivery of city centre events, specialty markets, and activities.
Under the brand Visit York, our aim is to promote the city and its surroundings as a must-see destination for leisure visitors and to ensure investment in the development of tourism quality in York.
The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working new member of staff to join Make It York on a full-time basis. You will have previous experience of working in a data analysis role, as your main aim will be to provide key analysis and evaluation of Make It York’s performance and to enhance Make it York’s reputation for research and intelligence data gathering. You will have good interpersonal skills, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be a strong team player.
Main duties will include
- Manage, interpret and disseminate market intelligence for Make It York and Visit York.
- Collate and analyse monthly intelligence dashboard,
- Provide in-depth analysis and evaluation reports for key Make It York events
- Manage the Visit York visitor survey and economic impact study and translate results into actionable marketing objectives for Visit York.
- To participate in the wider regional and national tourism research and insight projects and funding evaluation.
- Manage customer satisfaction and consumer insight surveys for the York Pass.
- Disseminate key survey findings (including wider sector data) both internally to Make It York staff and Board and externally to members.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, however, part time working requests may be considered. Our office is based in the centre of York, and hybrid working is available.
