About the role
The role requires an accredited qualification in counselling recognised by a professional body such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
This role is a job share with a qualified counsellor.
JOB PURPOSE:
- To provide a high-quality counselling service to students using a wide range of therapeutic interventions.
- To work closely with the pastoral team to maintain the highest standards of welfare for all students in the belief that safe, secure and healthy students make better learners, citizens and contributors to school life.
About you
- Maths and English to at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent (essential)
- Qualified Counsellor with proven track record of working in a school setting (desirable)
- Graduate status or equivalent (desirable)
Experience
- Experience in working within a school environment (essential)
- At least two years’ experience working as a counsellor (desirable)
- IT competency (essential)
- Working with young people (desirable)
Personal skills and qualities
- The desire to work with young people (essential)
- The ability to work as part of a team (essential)
- The ability to work independently, use initiative but take direction (essential)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) (essential)
- Excellent interpersonal skills (essential)
