The Opportunity
Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including institutionals, corporates, private banks and retail distribution networks.
Global Markets encompasses five global business lines;
- G10 Rates,
- Equity Derivatives (“EQD”),
- FXLM & Commodity Derivatives,
- Prime Solutions & Financing, and
- Primary & Credit Markets, helping their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk.
BNP Paribas through its Automated Market Making (AMM) trading desk acts as an ETF liquidity provider on electronic exchanges, MTFs and primary markets. This exciting role offers you the opportunity to join one of the leading ETF market makers in Europe and work alongside a team of quantitative traders.
What you’ll do
You will help to develop and expand our market making activity in Europe with a strong focus on Equity ETFs. You will be working on a fast-paced, quantitative trading desk with cutting-edge trading infrastructure and market/MTF connectivity.
You will be working on a range of quantitative trading projects, including:
- Development of ETF market making algorithms and related strategies
- Development and back testing of futures/stocks hedging strategies
- Development of post-trade analysis tools
- Use of advanced statistical and machine-learning methods to find trading bias and improve current automated strategies
- Working with traders in London towards a better industrialization of BNP Paribas’ market-making platform
Competencies required for the role
- High proficiency and autonomy in object-oriented programming: Python absolute requirement, C++ a plus
- Pandas/Numpy/SciKit and other relevant machine learning libraries
- Curiosity and uncompromising attention to detail and rigour.
- Analytical educational background: Engineering school or Applied Maths.
- Ability to quickly comprehend complex technical infrastructures.
