The role
As a Junior Motion Designer, you support the creative team by producing high-quality designs and motion graphics across various linear and digital platforms, including social media.
Under the guidance of the Senior Designer and Heads of Creative, you assist in creating visually engaging content that aligns with the creative objectives of the BBC Studios EMEA region. The ideal candidate has a passion for motion, a strong sense of design, and a desire to grow within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Motion Graphics Production: Develop and produce motion graphics that align with creative briefs for digital and social platforms, adhering to brand guidelines and project specifications.
- Visual Consistency: Ensure all designs and motion graphics maintain consistency with BBC’s visual identity and high production standards.
- Deck Development and Storyboarding: Support creatives in referencing, storyboarding, and deck development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior members of the creative team to brainstorm and execute motion graphics solutions that meet project goals.
- Software Proficiency: Use design software, particularly Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, to create engaging animations.
- Feedback Integration: Respond positively to feedback from senior creatives and stakeholders, continuously refining designs to meet high standards.
- Asset Management: Source relevant assets and maintain the file structure, ensuring naming conventions are followed.
- Development and Social Expertise: Proactively monitor and champion social trends, platform formats, and features, finding ways to incorporate them into the work.
What does it take
Key criteria
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using design and motion design software, particularly Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
- Social Media Expertise: Understand how design enhances engagement on digital and social platforms.
- Design Principles: Have a basic understanding of design principles, typography, and layouts.
- Feedback Skills: Demonstrate a willingness to learn and integrate constructive feedback to improve designs.
- Portfolio: Have a portfolio demonstrating basic skills in motion graphics and animation across digital platforms.
Desirable criteria
- Presentation Creation: Experience creating engaging presentation decks for creatives./
- Time Management: Possess strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Package description
Salary: £28,500 - £32,500+ London Weighting (£5,319) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Office Base is London, Television Centre. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working
